Sesquialtera is a fanfare made up of 6 musicians from the Montreal music scene. Around original compositions written by Aurélien Tomasi during his previous trips, the group offers a festive and deep repertoire, suggesting a scenario where different cultures would have mutually influenced each other, for a globalized music rich in color.
After performing in prestigious programs such as the Montreal Jazz Festival or Montreal Completely Cirque, Sesquialtera presents his first performance in a sound hall, entitled C’est ce qui alteréra.
An entirely instrumental work, commenting in a metaphorical way on the elusive time, from youth (L’ insouciante, De la balançoire) to old age (To the rocking chair, This is what altered).
Through the warmth of the wind instruments and the dynamism of the drums, Sesquialtera offers joyful and varied music, which will give hope in troubled times.
