Alice has been waiting for eight years to be offered a child for adoption. When she is told that the Brittany Family Council has chosen her to become the mother of Theo, a two-and-a-half-year-old infant, she has trouble believing it. Behind this news lies a complex process. In Brest, a young woman gives birth to a baby that she does not think she can raise properly. Before giving it for adoption, she must meet a social worker who explains, among other things, that she has two months to change her mind. In the meantime, Theo is entrusted to Jean, a family assistant who welcomes him, takes care of him as his own son and creates with him a first bond of attachment.
